Recycling in the City of Lights

Aurora, Illinois is one of the fastest growing cities in North America, known as the City of Lights after its early adoption of electric street lighting back in 1881. After rapid expansion as a manufacturing powerhouse, the city fell on hard times in the 70s and 80s, but a comprehensive regeneration program has turned Aurora into a culturally diverse, thriving city with a population approaching 200,000.

When the City needed to implement a new recycling program, officials contacted Glasdon for help. Working with the City of Aurora, we supplied different configurations of Nexus® 8G and 26G Recycling Containers to meet their needs.

Aurora's new recycling scheme has been a big hit, and the City has extended the program over other buildings since the original rollout.
