Color Coded Collection

Color coding your recycling containers reinforces your recycling message and helps everyone quickly identify the right unit for their recyclable waste.

There's no standard color scheme used across the US. Our standard containers are:

Red for drinks cans

Green for paper (Blue for locked confidential paper containers)

Yellow for glass

Lime Green or Blue for mixed recyclables

Orange for plastic bottles

Blue for batteries

Gray for non-recyclable trash
